From the first email welcoming us to the New York Musical Festival through the final follow-up after closing night, the staff at NYMF has provided invaluable direction and support, answering questions we had not even thought to ask and encouraging and empowering us to make well-educated decisions along the way. NYMF allowed us to develop this show under the guidance of seasoned professionals and present it to a sophisticated audience. We were able to experiment with this new perspective and walked away from the Festival with a much stronger understanding of how the show should run moving forward. Since our run, we have been contacted by several touring and large-market producers and look forward to a hitting a stage somewhere in the U.S. again soon.

$15 for 15 years

In 2018 we are delighted to be celebrating the 15th anniversary of the New York Musical Festival - that's 15 years of presenting hundreds of new musicals, and supporting thousands of artists! We want to mark this momentous occasion by revamping the Festival, and putting major changes in place to better support the musical theater community. But we need your help!

We have launched our $15 for 15 campaign to make this happen. What we raise will determine how far we can go with these new initiatives. This is where you come in! Please participate in this critical initiative and help shape the future of NYMF.

If just 4,000 people in our community of hundreds of thousands donate only $15 (in honor our 15th anniversary!), we will be able to achieve this goal. $15 for 15 years of new musicals. Of course, if you’re capable, donations of $150 or any other multiple of 15 would be profoundly welcome!

From its inception in 2004, NYMF grew quickly into the largest musical theater event in the country. We have presented over 445 new musicals, served over 1,000 writers, sold around 300,000 tickets, and commissioned writers to create work specifically for NYMF.

Increasingly, however, we’re focused less on size and more on making a bigger impact on the work we present and the artists we support. Our intention for 2018 is to restructure the Festival in a way that allows us to more actively engage with each show and its writing team, providing individualized artistic, administrative, fundraising, technical and marketing support. And we are committed to doing all of this while removing barriers to entry for our artists.
