NMTN sets industry standards for the evaluation and presentation of new music theater works through its two major programs, the Evaluation Program and the New York Musical Tehatre Festival, and through awards and honors designed to draw attention to promising new projects.

  • THE EVALUATION PROGRAM

    For more than two decades, NMTN's Evaluation Program has been providing the creators of new musicals with quality feedback from professional theater directors, choreographers, and musical directors. Each submission receives two comprehensive written assessments providing detailed responses and professional perspectives intended to aid and guide writers during their work's development process. Submissions that are considered "market ready" and possess a requisite quality may be nominated for inclusion in the New York Musical Theatre Festival, and for awards and presentations administered by NMTN and our affiliates.

    The Evaluation Program is not currently accepting submissions. If you have a show you'd like to submit, please check back in January 2009 for more information and updated submission guidelines.
