The Cherwell, Oxford University's student newspaper reports that renowned UK singer and performer John Barrowman is mulling the choices to star as either P.T. Barnum in a late-2009 West End revival of the musical Barnum or join the upcoming 'Phantom 2', Andrew Lloyd Webber's sequel to his mega hit, The Phantom of the Opera.
Christopher Marlowe, an English dramatist, poet, and translator of the Elizabethan era, was the foremost Elizabethan tragedian before William Shakespeare.
The production is directed by the Artistic Director and Co-founder, Jesus Quintero. Mr. Quintero graduated from the prestigious Teatro Libre de Bogota, Colombia and has worked in Colombia, Mexico, Cuba, New York, Pennsylvania, and now in Miami.
New Theatre is dedicated to the development and production of new works in South Florida and has brought the national premieres of more than 30 plays by early and mid-career American playwrights to South Florida, including New Theatre commissioned Anna in the Tropics by Nilo Cruz, winner of a Pulitzer Prize for Drama and The Steinberg Award, and Catherine Bush's Just A Kiss, which was both a finalist for The Steinberg and The Osborn Award in 2007, among others.
