In the dangerous world of early 20th century West Virginia coal country, Carrie Bishop, a mine nurse, is torn between love for her husband and a union organizer. All three are swept up in the fight for their lives, as the war between mine-owners and striking workers rages on around them. Miners struggle to attain basic human rights while Carrie fights to discover her true purpose.

Katy Blake (Book & Music)

Katy Blake has toured nationally as Eva in Evita, Christine in The Phantom of the Opera, Mamma Mia, and Whistle Down the Wind. She has performed at the York Theatre, Signature Theatre, the Hollywood Bowl in South Pacific, and in Sunday in the Park With George at Reprise! She created the roles of Pam in CATCO’s and Off Broadway’s The Last Smoker in America and Sirroco in the Pasadena Playhouse production of Mask. She sings and writes country music.

Peter Davenport

Peter Davenport (Book & Music)

Peter Davenport is an IRNE nominated actor and award-winning filmmaker. He has performed in the National Tour of The Sound of Music (Captain von Trapp,) in Regional Theatre, and Off-Broadway. He studied Shakespeare at BADA in London and acquired his BA/MFA in Theatre from Sarah Lawrence College. His solo album, Clear Day, is distributed by LML music, and he was part of the cast recordings of Follies and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea at Papermill Playhouse.

Flip Anderson

Flip Anderson (Music)

Flip Anderson has worked with Tracy Lawrence for many years as a writer and producer on several of his albums. He has collaborated with other artists such as John Anderson, Rich McCready, and Kenny Hess, and also produced Civil War: The Nashville Sessions for Frank Wildhorn. He now lives mostly in Gatlinburg where he and his wife, Diane, own and run The Gallery at Gatlinburg featuring works by artists from the Smoky Mountains.

Tracy Lawrence

The CMA/ACM award-winning recording artist has helped shape the sound of country music for two decades, inspiring a new generation of entertainers and fans.
