Rule #24: You can't have your wedding cake and eat it too.

Unlucky in love twenty-somethings conclude the solution to their relationship problems is to stay single, as they mingle through the bars of Wrigleyville. “The Guide to Being Single,” a new book from an anonymous author, gives you twenty-five simple rules for screwing without getting screwed: You never call or text. You always go to their place. And most importantly, you never break the rules. But what if the fun of rules is breaking them?

Running Time: 1 hour and 45 minutes, plus one intermission.

Kaitlin Gilgenbach

Kaitlin Gilgenbach (Book)

Kaitlin Gilgenbach grew up in a strange place far, far away called Florida. She journeyed to Chicago-land, when she was invited to attend Northwestern University. By nights, she toils away at a brewpub to support herself and her precious kitten, Stella. However, many of Kaitlin’s wishes have come true: Her musical, The Guide to Being Single (co-written by Alexi Kovin), was produced by Underscore Theatre. She’s had shorter works in the PreTENd Play Festival (NU), Young Playwrights’ Festival (Florida Stage), and has had a script workshopped at the Annoyance Theatre. She’s elated that The New York Musical Festival is the perfect fit and hopes to live happily ever after.
