She won't quit and she won't stay quiet! It’s the turn of the century and aging Mary Harris “Mother” Jones is on a tireless crusade for justice as she leads ragged mill children on a march to end child labor. Inspiring, heartbreaking, and hopeful, this thrilling new musical following “the most dangerous woman in America” will captivate audiences of all ages with its vibrant score blending period infused melodies with powerful contemporary anthems to deliver an uplifting message of human dignity that transcends time.

Lulu is delighted to rejoin the MOTHER JONES family! She was a part of NYMF last year, playing Kathleen in God’s Country. Some other credits include Judy in 9 to 5, Missy in The Marvelous Wonderettes, The Narrator in Joseph…Dreamcoat, Lizzy in Baby, and Lucy in Jekyll and Hyde (LA Ovation Nomination). TV and film credits include The Office, CSI: NY, Dexter, Prison Break, Heroes, The Unit, Star Trek: Voyager, and Enterprise, Just Say Love, Flightplan, and Bitch Slap. He is a three-time LA Ovation nominee, an LA Drama Critics Circle nominee, a two-time Joseph Jefferson nominee, and a 2011 LA Weekly Award winner.

Grace Matwijec

Grace Matwijec (Jane Markem)

Grace Matwijec recently played the role of Susan Waverly for the Broadway National Tour of White Christmas. Past performances: Really Rosie (Bucks County Playhouse), The Music Man (Walnut Street Theatre), Gypsy (Kelsey Theatre). Grace was also in the Kids Chorus for the Bruno Mars Superbowl halftime show. She can be seen in print ads, commercials, QVC shopping Network, as well as an educational and music video. Grace was a part of the original soundtrack recording for the show Moses.

Marissa Miller

Last seen in the national tour of Wicked (Glinda u/s, ensemble). This past June Marissa made her cabaret debut at the Beechman Theatre in her solo show Think Pink! Regional credits include; Pirates! Gilbert & Sullivan Plunder'd (The Huntington Theatre), Janet in The Rocky Horror Show (Seacoast Repertory Theatre), and Alice in Alice: a New Musical (Cellar Door Stages). This fall, Marissa will reprise the title role in new musical Alice at the Wheelock Family Theatre. Proud Boston Conservatory alum and AEA member. Love to my family, friends and David.

Kevin Reed

Kevin Reed (Alexander Gottlieb)

Kevin earned his masters in acting from Columbia University. He's been seen on Broadway, Carnegie Hall, and around the country with Michael Bolton, Linda Eder, Renée Fleming, and Chita Rivera, and starred in shows at Tony-winning theaters throughout the US. He can be heard on the cast recording Brownstone with Rebecca Luker, Brian d’Arcy James, and Liz Callaway. Kevin is currently writing a new musical comedy with his writing partners, singer-songwriters Austin Marolla and Sloan Wainwright, and resides in NYC where he also doubles as an acting coach.

Michelle Tattenbaum (Director)

Michelle Tattenbaum directed the world premiere of Nobody Loves You at the Old Globe (San Diego Theatre Critics Circle nomination for Best Director) and the NY premiere at Second Stage. She directed and co-produced The Sublet Experiment, a site-specific touring production that played to sold-out crowds in NYC for over six months. Regional: Hangar Theatre, Williamstown, Goodspeed and Shakespeare Theatre of NJ. Produced and developed new musicals for Manhattan Theatre Club. Two-time Drama League Directing Fellow.

Clare Cook (Choreographer)

Past projects: Show Me Real at NYMF 2012, Touching Loss (workshop) at Triskelion Arts, Under My Skin at the 2013 DANCENOW Festival at Joe's Pub, Jack Perry is Alive and Dating at NYMF 2011. Clare is the Artistic Director of Clare Cook Dance Theater through which she creates original dance theater works. She was the observer to Susan Stroman for Bullets Over Broadway (workshop) in November 2013. MFA in Dance from NYU. SDC Associate.

Micah Young (Musical Director)

Award winning Best Music Director NYMF 2013. Broadway: White Christmas, Mamma Mia, Spring Awakening, Chicago, Promises, Promises, Mary Poppins, Porgy and Bess, Cinderella. Annabella De Meo (Assistant Stage Manager)

Annabella just graduated from Eugene Lang College, The New School for Liberal Arts with a BA in theatre and film, and performed in several college productions. This is her first time working on a professional production. She has been interning at The Foundry Theatre for a year and is currently doing media and press for a Fringe Festival NYC production, Peristalsis. Her work is often seen on Broadway, Off-Broadway, regionally, internationally, on television, film, and the Internet. Benjamin Simpson (Producer)

Benjamin Simpson has worked with Cheryl Kemeny for almost ten years now, and most recently directed the Fall '13 reading of MOTHER JONES AND THE CHILDREN'S CRUSADE and Crystal Theatre's star-studded 25th Anniversary Celebration in Norwalk, CT. As an actor, he has toured the country and performed both regionally and in NYC. He is a proud graduate of The Boston Conservatory, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre, with an Emphasis in Directing. Proud member of Actor's Equity Association.

Mark Dundas Wood (Dramaturg)

Previous NYMF credits include Marrying Meg, The Great Unknown, Man of Rock, Living with Henry, and Sasquatched!. He has also worked as dramaturg and literary manager for New Professional Theatre. His adaptation of Henry James's The Tragic Muse appeared in the Gilded Stage Festival at the Metropolitan Playhouse earlier this year. He is cofounder of and contributor to and writes about cabaret at Columbia University MFA, 2000.

Jordi Coats (Associate Producer)

Previously, Jordi has worked with Binder Casting, Tara Rubin Casting, and Telsey + Company Casting, as well as produced and directed several pieces in the area. Recently, she assistant produced and assistant directed the award-winning production of Volleygirls at last year's New York Musical Theatre Festival (Best of Fest). She is a graduate of the Univeristy of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. While in NC, she founded The Talent Company, a theatre company for middle and high school students in the Uwharrie region that is currently in its nineth season.

Yvette Kojic is a Producer, Director, and Actress. Joe returns to NYMF after previously appearing in a reading of Cheryl E. Kemeny's Hungarian Nights (2012) at the 45th Street Theater. Katie Falter (Assistant Director)

Katie Falter is an aspiring director who recently moved from Gahanna, Ohio to New York City. National Tour: Disney’s Beauty and the Beast (ASM), Memphis the Musical (Production Assistant). New York: Milk for Mrs. Stone (2013 Fringe Festival). Regional: Cleveland Playhouse and Weathervane Playhouse. Proud alum of Otterbein University. Katie is excited to join the MOTHER JONES team to bring this important story to NYMF.

Catie Cuan (Assistant Choreographer)

Catie is thrilled to be part of MOTHER JONES! NY theater: Lemon Meringue (Barrow Group), Press Play (American Theater of Actors). Catie has performed with CATAPULT Entertainment (of AGT), Clare Cook, DOTA Dance Theater, Elena Vazintaris, Kendra Portier, and Mark Dendy. Her own company, Catie Cuan Dance, has performed over a dozen times throughout the Northeast. Upcoming: playing the Firebird in Stravinsky's classic choreographed by Clare Cook for the Acadiana Symphony Orchestra!

Alex Harrington (Assistant Musical Director)

Elivia Bovenzi (Assistant Costume Design)

Elivia Bovenzi recently received her MFA in Design from the Yale School of Drama, with a concentration in costume design. Her recent credits at Yale include An Accidental Death of an Anarchist (Yale Repertory Theatre/Berkeley Repertory Theatre), Cloud 9, and King Richard 2 (Yale Drama School). She was the 2014 recipient of the Leo Lerman Graduate Fellowship in Design.
