An original musical revue starring the talented teens from Prospect Theater Company’s Summer Intensive Training Program, this showcase features an array of brand-new songs by some of New York’s most exciting emerging writers as well as student-generated material.

Running Time: 1 hour 20 minutes with no intermission.

EllaRose Chary

EllaRose Chary (Book / Lyrics)

EllaRose Chary is thrilled to be back working with Prospect. Earlier this year, her musical (with Sooyeon Lee) The Daguerreotype was produced as part ofPortraits. Her work has been featured at Lincoln Center, Joe's Pub, NYMF, Cherry Lane Theatre, Goodspeed Opera House, ACT Theatre, and NYTB in the D-Lounge. EllaRose is the winner of the Weston Award for Musical Theater and her musical Left to Our Own Devices (with Stephanie Salzman) was a finalist for the Ronald M. Kevin Hammonds

Kevin Hammonds (Book / Lyrics)

Kevin Hammonds wrote book and lyrics for When Midnight Strikes(cast recording now available on iTunes); Brenda Bly: Teen Detective, published by Samuel French. His musicals Brenda Bly, When Midnight Strikes, Hope and Mr. Christmas have been translated into German, and are available throughout Europe through Gallissas publishing. Other musicals produced in London include R.S.V.P.A.S.A.P., Fabula, and No One in the World.  New York productions include Kiss and Make Up (Lucille Lortel Theater), Men: The Musical! (New York and Edinburgh),Crescendo Falls (Here/PSNBC) and Heads Up (John Houseman Theater). Together, Kevin and Kristin Bair were proud to be a part of Prospect Theater Company’s 2013 Musical Theater Lab The Sell, and are currently working their latest project Queen with a Crown, due to have its world premiere this coming October.  Kevin is a proud member of the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Advanced Workshop and The Dramatist Guild.



John Herin

John Herin (Book / Lyrics)

John Herin has frequently collaborated with Frederick Alden Terry. Their most recent work, The Tempest, premiered at the Southern Kentucky Performing Arts Center in 2012. Their other creations include an opera, Ethan Frome, and five short musicals for Prospect, Buying Time, Under the Skin, AVAC Memories, Improvisation and CindeRelativity. Their rock musical, The Passion of George W. Bush, co-authored with Adam Mathias, premiered at the New York Fringe Festival in 2004. John attended Brown University and the Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program at NYU/Tisch, and is a member of the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Librettists Workshop.



Laura Kleinbaum

Laura Kleinbaum (Book / Lyrics)

Laura Kleinbaum wrote the musicals Crash Text Dummy (with composer Shruti Kumar), BFF (with composer Haesun Suh), and Playing with Matches(with composer Salomon Lerner, being produced this summer!).  Her work has been featured in Bill Finn's Songs By Ridiculously Talented Composers and Lyricists You Probably Don't Know But Should (Barrington Stage) and Rites of Passage (Prospect Theater). Laura works on the writing staff of the Emmy Award-winning Nick Jr. cartoon,Bubble Guppies. She received her MFA from the Tisch Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program and is a member of the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop.



Kristin Bair

Kristin Bair (Music)

Kristin Bair's music was recently featured in The Sell, a short musical written with lyricist/librettist Kevin Hammonds for the Prospect Theater Company's 2013 Musical Theater Lab, Portraits.  Their newest project Queen with a Crown will receive its world premiere this October. Kristin and Kevin's songs have been heard in NYTB at the D Lounge, "Are You Working On Something New?" singer/songwriter showcase, and the BMI Workshop Smoker.  Kristin has also written a full-length musical for young audiences Cats and Mice, produced in Philadelphia.  She is a proud member of the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Advanced Workshop.



Sooyeon Lee

Sooyeon Lee (Music)

Sooyeon Lee is a composer and music director from Korea. Her musical theater writing includes The Daguerreotype (Prospect Theater, 2013), Death's Lament (PHTS, NY, 2011), Stuffed (Korea, 2011) Orchas (Tisch, NYU, 2010), The Corn Palace (Tisch, NYU, 2009), Gesamtkunstwerk (Tisch, NYU, 2009), Rescue the Blue (Korea, 2007), and Yanghwajin (Korea, 2005). As a music director, she has worked on Fountain (Korea, 2012) The Short Play Lab (NY, 2010), My Scary Girl (NYMF, NY, 2009), Blood Brothers (Korea, 2004), Rent (Accompanist, Korea, 2004), and Beauty and the Beast (Accompanist, Korea, 2004). She is a recipient of Paulette Goddard Scholarship from NYU and holds MFA from the Musical Theatre Writing Program at Tisch, NYU.



Yan Li

Yan Li (Music / Lyrics / Music Director)

Yan Li is a recent graduate of the Musical Theatre Writing Program at NYU Tisch. He wrote the music to Sweet Nothings (words by Jason Purdy), -Blind. (words by Julia Gytri), and music, lyrics and book for Left and Misprint (Toronto Fringe Festival "Pick of the Fringe" Award 2009). As a music director, arranger, conductor, teacher, and pianist, Yan has worked across North America and as far abroad as Nigeria and South Korea. Recent shows include Sunfish (Daegu International Music Festival), The Drowsy Chaperone (Bravo Academy), Marco Polo (Prospect Theater), and Vital Signs (St. Clement's Theatre).



Max Mamon

Max Mamon (Music)

Max Mamon is a composer, pianist, and music director living in Brooklyn. His original musicals co-written with librettist Jahn Sood include With You Always and Vital Signs, which was recently produced Off-Broadway at the Theater at St. Clements.  As co-founder and musical artistic director of Ensemble Dance, Max's work was featured in a choreography showcase at Alvin Ailey Studios.  His other works have been seen at the Sharon Playhouse, McConnell Theater at Simon’s Rock, The Duplex Cabaret Theater, 13th Street Rep, CultureHub Studios, 3LD Art & Technology Center, McCarter Theater, and Richardson Auditorium at Princeton University.  Max's music direction credits include Michael John LaChiusa's Marie Christine for Columbia Stages, and the upcoming Bend in the Road at NYMF.  Max is a graduate of the Graduate Musical Theater Writing Program at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, Princeton University, and the Royal College of Music in London.  www.maxmamon.com



Peter Mills

Peter Mills (Music/ Lyrics)

Peter Mills is a composer/lyricist whose shows include Illyria, The Taxi Cabaret, The Flood, and Golden Boy of the Blue Ridge.  Peter has won the Cole Porter Award, the Kleban Prize, the Ebb Award, the Richard Rodgers New Horizons Award, a grant from the Jonathan Larson Performing Arts Foundation, and received two Drama Desk Award nominations for his show The Pursuit of Persephone.www.pcmills.com



Frederick Alden Terry

Frederick Alden Terry (Music)

Frederick Alden Terry received an MFA in Musical Theatre Writing from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, where he met John Herin, with whom he has written The Tempest, a musical; Ethan Frome, an opera; and CindeRelativity, Improvisation, AVAC Memories, Under the Skin, and Buying Time, short musicals premiered by Prospect Theater Company.  With Herin and Adam Mathias he wrote The Passion of George W. Bush, and with Robert Michael Morris he wrote Divine Sarah. Terry composed incidental music for Romeo and Juliet and King Lear with director Dev Bondarin, and recently provided vocal arrangements/orchestrations for Cole Porter's Nymph Errant and Treasure Island.



Dev Bondarin

Dev Bondarin (Co-Curator/Director)

Dev Bondarin is the Associate Artistic Director of Prospect Theater Company where she curates, directs, and produces the company's annual Musical Theater Lab. Past labs include: Portraits, Rites of Passage, Souvenir Stories, Snapshots, and Map Quest. Other directing credits include: King Lear (American Bard Theater), Reefer Madness: The Musical (New York Innovative Theater Award Nomination for Outstanding Musical Production, Gallery Players), Jay Alan Zimmerman's Incredibly Deaf Musical (Marjorie Deane Little Theatre) and A Home Across the Ocean (MTWorks). BA: Brandeis University; MFA: Brooklyn College. Member of the Lincoln Center Directors Lab & MTWorks; Associate Member of the League of Professional Theatre Women and SDC.
