A wild night of wizards, relatives, gingerbread men, and other unlikely protagonists. Up-and-coming composers Josh Freilich and Nikko Benson share an evening of new, irreverent tunes fresh from the inaugural All-Star Songwriters series as seen at William Finn's Cabaret at Barrington Stage Company. Featuring Amanda Savan, Mary Kate Morrissey, Sammi Kramer and more! 

Running Time: 1 hour 30 minutes with no intermission.

Nikko Benson is a writer and composer from Minneapolis, MN, and a graduate of NYU Tisch's Graduate Musical Theater Writing Program. Previous shows include TESLA (Music)-- workshopped at NYU-- Hope, Who's Waldo, Going Up? (book, music and lyrics) and an English translation of Quand La Guerra Sera Finis (Lyrics)--all produced at Lawrence University undergrad. Upcoming, his first short musical film, New Mutiny (Music), will be released this summer, his work will be featured (in joint with composer Josh Freilich) at the Barrington Stage Company Cabaret this July.

Josh Freilich is an NYC-based composer and arranger whose arrangements and compositions have been performed at numerous venues throughout the country in concert, theatrical, and dance settings. BSC: Songs by Ridiculously Talented... (2010, 2011, 2012-acting debut). Other projects: arranger/orchestrator/keyboardist on Air Supply's musical Lost in Love, and orchestrator for the 2011 Equity showcase of "ODYSSEY: THE EPIC MUSICAL" at the Chernuchan Theatre Off-Broadway. Also composer of The Star Child with librettist Jenny Stafford and lyricist Sarah Underwood; which had its premiere production at French Woods Festival of the Performing Arts last summer.

Regional: The Ivoryton Playhouse, Shakespeare Santa Cruz, Oakland Lyric Opera, The Jarvis Conservatory (Napa Valley). International: Festival Lyrique en Mer, Belle Ile (France), Spoleto Festival (Italy). Deemed "a true Operatic talent " by the San Francisco Classical Voice, and "a tantalizing powerhouse" by Cabaret Scenes, Ms. Cernadas was a featured performer at the 2010 MAC Awards and was a 2010 Nightlife Award nominee with her Manhattan based jazz/pop/cabaret combo Les Bandits. Elisabeth is featured on premier recordings of works by Miya Masaoka with Volti, Darius Milhaud with The San Francisco Blue Print Festival, and original songs by and with Matmos and Scott Alan. Bachelor of Music from the University of California Santa Cruz, Master of Music from the Manhattan School of Music. AEA.

Ali Ewoldt is currently playing Luisa in The Fantasticks Off-Broadway. Mykal Kilgore was most recently seen in the 1st National Tour of The Book of Mormon.  Other theater credits include: Hair (Broadway), Freckleface Strawberry (Off-Broadway), Elliot in Band Geeks at (The Human Race Theater Co.), King Lear (EPBB), 5 Guys Named Moe (Casa Manana) Mykal has performed as a soloist at Joe’s Pub, Roseland, Birdland, The Laurie Beechman Theatre and The Kennedy Center. You can also hear him on the album's Cosmos by Slow Knights,  Scott Alan's "LIVE" and on Make Me Believe In Hope by Bright Light Bright Light!

Sammi Leigh Kramer

Sammi Leigh Kramer was recently seen as Janet Weiss in The Rocky Horror Show. Over the years, Sammi has performed at Don't Tell Mama, The Broadway Comedy Club and the Manhattan Repertory Theatre. She is also a proud member of the "We've Got Class" cabaret troupe in New York City. Sammi was the Assistant Stage Manager of Greenwood (NYMF 2011) B.A. Marymount Manhattan College. Shakina Nayfack is a theatre director, choreographer, producer and performance artist with a passion for developing new work. World Premiers: The Poor Players by Dan LeFranc (Actors Theatre of Santa Cruz), Cosa Rara/Rare Thing by Butchlalis de Panochtitlan (Highways Performance Space, Los Angeles). Currently in development: JUNK: A Rock Opera with the Swedish pop band Brainpool, Jahn Sood's The Disappearing Man, and The Craft - The Musicalwith Kevin Michael Jones and Peter Filardi. Shakina is also the Associate Producer at Barrington Stage Company.
