Broadway Idol to Present Concert

Jaclyn Huberman, winner of NYMF 2006's "Broadway Idol" competition will present her solo concert debut at Ars Nova on Thursday, May 8th at 8pm and Sunday, May 13th at 9:30pm.

As part of the NYMF at Nite series at the 2006 New York Musical Theatre Festival, Jaclyn Huberman beat out nine other finalists picked from over 175 performers in the "Broadway Idol" competition.  The finalists, all performers who had never been on Broadway, sang for judging panels of such Broadway notables as Chip Zien, Stephen Schwartz, Lonny Price, and Marin Mazzie.

As the first ever "Broadway Idol," Huberman will be performing an evening of songs by Stephen Schwartz, Jason Robert Brown, Michael John LaChiusa, and Ani DiFranco.  Directed by Jim Augustine, the night will also feature Musical Director Andy Boroson on the piano, Dave Purcell on drums, and Tony Steele on bass.

Huberman's numerous regional and other credits include Pirates of Penzance (Mabel), Gypsy (Rose), Babes in Arms (Bunny), Guys and Dolls (Sarah Brown), Into the Woods (The Baker's Wife), and Children of Eden (Eve).
