Next to Normal wins 3 Tonys!

Congratulations to NYMF alumni Next to Normal ('05) for netting three Tony Awards, including Best Score (Tom Kitt & Brian Yorkey), Best Orchestrations (Michael Starobin & Tom Kitt), and Best Actress in a Musical (Alice Ripley).

Next to Normal, now playing at The Booth Theatre, explores the story of a family as its members struggle to take care of themselves and each other in the wake of the mother's mental illness. It features an acclaimed TonyAward-winning electric, contemporary rock score. Next to Normal was nominated for a total of 11 Tonys. In addition to the three winning categories, it was nominated for:
