NYMF's 2007 Gala was a smashing success, and a wonderful way to pay tribute to our honorees and the winners of the NYMF Awards for Excellence, as well as everyone who worked so hard to create a hugely successful festival. The night was filled with fabulous food, a silent auction with exciting and unique items, and brilliant performances from some of NYMF’s and New York's finest artists.

NYMF also honored a new generation of Broadway producers--Rob Ahrens (Xanadu), Pun Bandhu (Spring Awakening), and Jennifer Maloney (Legally Blonde, Spring Awakening)--for, like NYMF, being on the forefront of the musical revolution. The crowd was entertained by a hilarious tribute to Xanadu producer Rob Ahrens by Mary Testa and Jackie Hoffman, a special Spring Awakening number from the show's composer Duncan Sheik and band as well as a sneak-preview at his forthcoming musical. Kelli O’Hara led a chorus in a splendid finale from honoree Jennifer Maloney’s upcoming musical, Writing Arthur.

Attendees were also treated to songs from some of the Festival's hit shows, including "Walking on the Moon" (The Boy in the Bathroom), "Off to the East" (Unlock'd - Winner of the Verizon Wireless 'Best of Fest' Award), "Spirit of Addiction" (Platforms). Liz Larsen proved she was the "Life of the Party" (Such Good Friends) and Laura Shoop brought the house down with "Sherlock Holmes" (Sherlock Holmes - The Early Years).

The festivities continued well into the night, celebrating the achievements of all the artists, supporters and volunteers who work tirelessly year-round to make the New York Music Theatre Festival such a huge success.

Many thanks to those all who came out and joined us - and to all those who lent their support in so many ways.
