Johann Gutenberg invented the printing press in 1450, so Bud Davenport and Doug Simon wrote a musical about him and they're bringing it to Broadway. They don't have a cast, a budget, or a producer . . . but they have a dream! And it makes perfect entertainment for the entire family ± even if some of them are illiterate. Gutenberg! The Musical! is Bud and Doug's backers' audition: a tuneful, tasteless triumph, celebrating the monstrous success of their idiocy. Shown in development at NYMF 2005, and following a limited West End run at the Jermyn Street Theatre, NYMF 2006 presents the first American production of the epic two-act extravaganza. When Ben Harper steals ten thousand dollars from a bank in depression era West Virginia and tells his young son and daughter never to reveal the whereabouts of the cash, he sets in motion one of the most thrilling, frightening, and heartfelt stories ever to fill the pages of a best selling novel. The film version, named one of the 100 greatest films of the 20th Century, starred Robert Mitchum, Shelley Winters and Lillian Gish.

This epic musical tells the fascinating and uplifting story of one of the greatest heroes of the 20th century.

Raoul Wallenberg saved the lives of over 100,000 Hungarian Jews during World War II--more than were rescued by any other individual, organization or government during the entire Holocaust. Between face-offs with the notorious Nazi colonel, Adolf Eichmann, and secret dealings with the wife of one of Hungary's most prominent fascist leaders, Wallenberg was able to accomplish more in six months than most people do in a lifetime. When the war ended, Wallenberg was abducted by the Russians, never to be seen again.

Thom Christopher Warren (The Lion King, Once Upon a Mattress, Harmony) performs the title role, heading a talented cast of 36.  Also appearing are:
Lauren Adler * Darrel Blackburn * Heather Braverman * Andrea Burns
Maria Couch * Max Damashek * Nicole DeBace * Matthew Deming

By Terry Withers and Jason Rhyne

In 1999 Jason Rhyne and Terry Withers began collaborating on a full-length musical. Like any team of writers they wrote about what they knew. This is a show about being lonely, unsuccessful, middle-aged Americans and how wonderful giving in to apathy can be! Only 7 years later and they're almost done with Act 1! Come enjoy "The MacGuffin?: The Beginning" which also chronicles (beside how unhappy its authors are) the mystery surrounding the death of Archibald Benzenhoffer and the exploits of the motley, possibly guilty crew of misfits that bands together to uncover the truth... as long as it isn't too inconvenient. Anyway, if you're still not sold on this show, we're going to post pictures and songs and stuff on this page tomorrow, if we get around to it.
