That Other Woman's Child

a bluegrass musical

Book, Music, and Lyrics by Sherry Landrum and George S. Clinton

A foot-stompin' story about family, fear, and freedom.

When the folks at Hanover farm hear their long-lost big city half-sister - "that other woman's child" - is coming to Kentucky to claim her share of the farm, all hell breaks loose! They've dreaded this moment for twenty years, and they ain't gonna let no city woman take what's theirs. Little do they know that she's actually coming to connect with the family she never knew. That Other Woman's Child is a joyful, bluegrass-laced look at the trials and tribulations of the ties that bind.

George Clinton
George Clinton (book / music / lyrics)

George S. Clinton began his professional musical career as a songwriter, arranger, and session musician in Nashville, while earning degrees in music and drama at Middle Tennessee State University.
He became a staff writer for Warner Brothers Music, with songs recorded by such artists as Michael Jackson, Joe Cocker, Johnny Mathis, and Smokey Robinson; continued arranging and session work; and, as a recording artist, did four albums for MCA, Elektra, ABC, and Arista. He developed his craft scoring "ninja" movies for Cannon Films, network and cable television movies and miniseries. The soulful, erotic jazz for Zalman King's Showtime anthology Red Shoe Diaries developed a following and brought more public awareness.
He has contributed memorable scores to such diverse films as the hit comedy Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery and its blockbuster sequels Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, and Austin Powers in Goldmember, and the hit martial arts fantasy Mortal Kombat and its sequel. Other noteworthy projects include Disney's magical The Santa Clause 2; Tim Allen's poignant comedy Joe Somebody; Kevin Costner's wild 3000 Miles to Graceland; the sexy thriller Wild Things; and the scary, yet romantic The Astronaut's Wife, starring Charlize Theron and Johnny Depp. George has won six BMI Awards for his film scores. This summer, he received an Emmy nomination for his musical score to HBO's Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee.
