Scott is thrilled to be a part of this important piece. He has been seen on Broadway in the production of Brooklyn The Musical, Off-Broadway in the Original Cast of Sessions, which re-opens this October with Scott reprising his role of George. Around the country he has performed in different roles such as Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar, Man #2 in I Love You, You're Perfect Now Change, and Iago in Shakespeare's Othello. Scott is the lead singer for New Jersey's best cover band, Rock Road and he regularly plays improv as a company member at the National Comedy Theatre in Manhattan. Daniel Katz

NYMF debut! Daniel played Menelaus in the 25th anniversary production of Andrei Serban and Elizabeth Swados’ The Trojan Women at La MaMa e.t.c. Also at LaMaMa, he played Pantalone in The Green Bird, Lebrel in Love, The Greatest Enchantment, and Mesrin in La Dispute. He understudied Marcellus and Reynaldo in Hamlet with Mark Rylance at the American Repertory Theatre. On television, he has appeared on "As The World Turns” and will be seen in the upcoming HALLMARK HALL OF FAME PRODUCTION, “UNORTHODOX” on CBS. Daniel is a graduate of Amherst College, Cambridge University, University of Pennsylvania Law School and Columbia University School of the Arts . He continues his studies with Casey Childs at Primary Stages School of Theatre and with Allen Savage. Love to my wife, Meg, my parents and my brother for their steadfast support.

Lauren Lebowitz (Rachel)

Is performing in her 5th year at the NYMF. She was recently seen singing Tim Huang's music in the Neo Spotlight Series at the York. Favorite credits include Godspell (Nat'l tour, cast recording), Footloose (Rusty, Nat'l tour), Fiddler on the Roof (Tzeitel, Casa Manana), Wallenberg (Rosa, NYMF) and entertaining our troops with the USO with performances at Bob Hope's 100th birthday, NBC's "Today Show", and the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Last year she co-created, co-produced and performed in Time Out magazine's critic's pick, Where's Darfur?, a concert benefiting the Darfur refugees. Lauren is a graduate of the University of Michigan and Royal Academy of Music. She dedicates her performance to her grandparents who miraculously survived the Holocaust. In 2007 Maxine was nominated for a MAC award for her autobiographical show, So Far. Most recently she played Emma in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s cult one woman musical Tell me on a Sunday at The Laurie Beechman Theatre. Maxine received her training at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic in both Musical Theatre and Drama and also holds a law degree from The University of London. Maxine established The alloy theater Company in 2008. She is delighted to be a part of To Paint The Earth.

Daniel Frederick Levin's musical, To Paint the Earth, written with composer Jonathan Portera, won a 2004 Richard Rodgers Development Award and was presented in a series of readings at the Abingdon Theatre, NYC (Premieres, Paulette Haupt). With Portera, he also wrote the short musical The Hungry Lion (Dixon Place), and served as a Jonathan Larson Memorial Fellow at the Dramatists Guild (2003-2004) under the mentorship of Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty. Daniel's full-length play, The Waiter, always the waiter, received a reading at the 92nd Street Y's Makor/Steinhardt center in July, 2006. His one-act play, Going to Belize, was presented at the Long Wharf Theatre, New Haven, in February, 2007. Last Spring, Daniel's monologue, A Glorious Evening,was included alongside new works by John Guare and Neil LaBute in 5-story Walk-up, a series of short works performed at and for the benefit of the 13th Street Repertory. Daniel's newest musical, Campaign, is set on a fictional Senate race in Ohio. In April 2007, along with Lauren Lebowitz and Julie Tindell, he co-created and produced Where's Darfur? at the Knitting Factory, a concert to raise awareness about the genocide and benefit the refugees in Darfur, Sudan. The night raised $10,000 for relief work. Daniel holds an MFA in musical theatre writing as a composer/lyricist from the NYU Tisch Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program and a BA from Yale University. www.danielflevin.com

Michael Bush (Director)

was most recently the former director of artistic production for the Manhattan Theatre Club in New York City. He was associated with MTC for over 25 years and helped artistically guide more than 150 new plays and musicals, including the Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning Proof, and Doubt, and the Tony Award-winning Love! Valour! Compassion! At MTC, he most recently directed Based On A Totally True Story in 2006. He was instrumental in the rebirth of the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center’s Cabaret & Performance Conference, and has served as its artistic director since 2005. Mr. Bush directed The Story Of My Life at Toronto's CanStage, and Murderers for The Philadelphia Theatre Company, the Emelin Theatre and Pittsburgh’s City Theatre. He also directed Stormy Weather starring Leslie Uggams for The Prince Music Theatre in Philadelphia and will be directing the west coast premiere in Los Angeles at the Pasadena Playhouse in January 2009. Mr. Bush directed the New York Music Theater Festival productions of The Ballad Of Bonnie And Clyde (2005), and Grammy Award winning songwriter Marcus Hummon's The Piper (2007) and Warrior (2006). During his tenure as producing artistic director at Charlotte Repertory Theatre (2002-2004) he presented Hilary Swank in The Miracle Worker, Penny Fuller in The Glass Menagerie, and directed Emily Skinner in the 20th Anniversary production of Pump Boys And Dinettes. He also directed and co-wrote the book for the musical Let Me Sing, A Musical Evolution, co-produced with George Street Playhouse and Charlotte Repertory Theatre.

 
Katya Stanislavskaya (Musical Director)

received her MM in Piano Accompanying from Temple University, and is a recent graduate of the Graduate Musical Theater Writing Program at NYU. "Lightning Man", for which she co-wrote lyrics, was performed at the New Musicals Workshop at NYU in July 2008. She also co-wrote music and lyrics for "The Dragon" (NYU), and wrote book, music, and lyrics for "Fruitlies" (Philadelphia Gay and Lesbian Theater Festival). As a musical director/pianist, Katya's most recent projects include "Cheerwars" (NYU New Musicals Workshop), "Married Alive" (Act II Playhouse), "Dreamgirls" (Prince Theater), and "Menopause: The Musical" (Society Hill Playhouse).

Yoni Oppenheim (Assistant Director)

Yoni first heard Daniel Levin play songs from To Paint the Earth at a Jewish summer camp in Clayton, Georgia, during their training seminar as Spielberg Fellows in Jewish Theater Education in 2002. He has since followed the show's development and is excited to be involved in this production. Yoni is a contributing artist to Teater NOR's production Knut er død – the Hamsun anniversary 2008-10 which has been performed in Norway. His latest collaboration, The Consistency of Flour, was recently presented as a work in progress at the JCC of Manhattan. Yoni has directed Oleanna, The Love of Don Perlimplin for Belisa in the Garden, Swan Song, Crito, Na'im (The Lover), Joseph…, and has devised original works. Yoni received his B.F.A. in Drama from NYU – Tisch School of the Arts/Playwrights Horizons Theater School, and his M. Phil in Ibsen Studies from the University of Oslo. He is a member of the Lincoln Center Theater Directors Lab.

Lisa will also be the general manager for this years NAMT festival in October. In January 2008, Lisa formed Across the Pond Theatricals with Andy Vitolo, a company that focuses on creating musicals in an organic process with collaborations between artists in the US and in the UK, upcoming Across the Pond projects include Pollyanna written by Neil Berg and Dan Remmes. She is also the Executive Producer of Oslo Elsewhere, the American voice for internationally produced playwright Jon Fosse, and the producer of Katharsis Theatre. She also produced a major NY benefit for the Save Darfur Coalition last year and has also produced countless musical readings. Lisa holds a BA in theatre management from Florida State.

is a freelance Production Manager living and working in New York. Prior to moving to NYC, Jen was the Production Coordinator at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center as well as many theatres in Washington DC. While working in DC, she worked with Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company, Arena Stage, Washington Women in Theatre, soundincentive and Georgetown University. Recently Jen has worked with The Gallery Players, Two Guys and a Credit Card and Mushroom Cloud Press. Currently she has projects with Oslo Elsewhere and NYMF 2008.
