Some of the best musical theatre songs aren't from musicals at all, but the pop/rock cannon.  Come to a night featuring the best characters and story songs from diverse singers and songwriters like Elton John and Bernie Taupin, Joni Mitchell, Rufus Wainwright, Stephen Merritt, and dozens more.

Christian Campbell
Christian Campbell (Performer)

Christian Campbell won the 2006 NYMF Award for Excellence in Individual Performance for his role in Drift. He also won the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Lead Performance as Jimmy Harper in Reefer Madness, a role he recreated for the Showtime movie. Also on the small screen, Campbell has been seen in All My Children, The Book of Daniel, and Malibu Shores.

 
Stephanie D'Abruzzo
Stephanie D'Abruzzo (Performer)

Stephanie D'Abruzzo is best known for originating the roles of Kate Monster and Lucy the Slut in Avenue Q (2004 Tony Award nomination, Drama Desk nomination, Theatre World Award, and Outer Critics Circle Special Ensemble Award). Other stage credits include Skitch Henderson's New Faces of 2004 at Carnegie Hall, Carnival (for City Center Encores!), Encores! 10th Anniversary Bash, I Love You Because (off-Broadway), If You Give A Mouse A Cookie (TheaterworksUSA) and Chess (Actors' Fund). On Sesame Street, she sang with R.E.M. in a new version of Shiny Happy People called Furry Happy Monsters. On Scrubs, Stephanie guest starred in a musical episode called "My Musical."

Natascia Diaz
Natascia Diaz (Performer)

Natascia Diaz got both her first off-Broadway and Broadway credits, starring opposite Tony winner Daisy Eagan in 'The Little Prince" at the John Houseman, and performing in Lincoln Center's award winning revival of "Carousel". Natascia was then cast in the role critics would later say she was born to play. After dancing the role of Anita with the New York City Ballet for their 'West Side Story Suites' helmed by Jerome Robbins, she received casting approval from both Mr. Robbins and librettist Arthur Laurents to perform the role in the National touring production of "West Side Story". Her breakout performance as Anita won her Chicago's prestigious Joseph Jefferson Award, a Bay Area Theater Critics Award Nomination, and critical acclaim both across the country and internationally. To date, Ms. Diaz enjoys a growing career on and off-Broadway, regionally, and on TV in an eclectic mix of parts and shows, due to her amazing versatility as a 'triple-threat' actress/singer/dancer.

 
Mary Faber
Mary Faber (Performer)

Currently appearing in Avenue Q as Kate Monster and Lucy T. Slut, Mary Faber has also been seen in the Actors' Fund concerts of Hair and Chess. Her off-Broadway credits include Floyd & Clea Under the Western Sky at Playwrights Horizons and The Tutor at the York Theatre. Regional credits include Princesses, Feeling Electric, and A Christmas Carol.

 
Manoel Felciano
Manoel Felciano (Performer)

Manoel Felciano was nominated for a Tony Award for his role as Tobias in Sweeney Todd. He has appeared on Broadway in Cabaret, Jesus Christ Superstar, and Brooklyn. His Off-Broadway and regional credits include Shockheaded Peter, Much Ado... (NYSF/Public Theater), and I Just Stopped By...(Old Globe). Felciano received a BA from Yale and MFA from the NYU Graduate Acting Program, where he was seen as Valmont in Les Liaisons Dangereuses, Gaev in Cherry Orchard, Giovanni in We Won't Pay! and Pericles in Pericles.

 
Alison Fraser
Alison Fraser (Performer)

A two time Tony nominee, Alison Fraser is best known for her role as Martha in The Secret Garden, and has also appeared on Broadway in The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Romance/Romance, and Tartuffe. Most recently, Fraser played Ms. Darbus in the Theatre of the Stars production of High School Musical in Atlanta, Georgia. Other credits include Dedication or the Stuff of Dreams (Jessie Nuncle) at Primary Stages, March of the Falsettos and In Trousers (Trina) at Playwrights Horizons, The Green Heart (Uta) at Manhattan Theatre Club, and Lady In the Dark (Andrea Marcovicci) at The Prince Theatre in Philadelphia.

 
Peter Friedman
Peter Friedman (Performer)

Peter Friedman originated the role of Tateh in the musical Ragtime in its world premiere in Toronto, as well as on Broadway, receiving an Outer Critics Circle Award and Tony and Drama Desk Award nominations.  He was in the original New York productions of The Heidi Chronicles by Wendy Wasserstein and Simon Gray's The Common Pursuit (earning Drama Desk nominations for both), A Soldier's Play by Charles Fuller, C.P. Taylor's ...and a Nightingale Sang and Execution of Justice by Emily Mann.  He also appeared in New York in The Tenth Man by Paddy Chayefsky, Donald Margulies' The Loman Family Picnic, Israel Horovitz's My Old Lady and most recently, in the Roundabout Theatre's revival of Reginald Rose's Twelve Angry Men.  His films include Safe, Paycheck, The Seventh Sign, Single White Female, Blink and the soon-to-be-released Freedomland and Unconscious.  On television, he was a performer on The Muppet Show, and a regular on the series Brooklyn Bridge.

 
Lauren Molina
Lauren Molina (Performer)

Lauren Molina played Johanna in the Broadway revival of Sweeney Todd.  Her other credits include Theatreworks/USA "Just So Stories" and York Theatre's Musicals in Mufti production of "Henry, Sweet Henry" with Kaitlin Thompkins and Miriam Shor.

Ann Morrison (Performer)

Ann Morrison currently appears in LoveMusik (MTC). Broadway credits include Merrily We Roll Along (1982 Theatre World Award). London West End: Peg. Annie has done massive Regional Theatre, World Premieres, Television, Recordings, and Cabaret and Concerts throughout the U.S. and England. Gloria Reuben
Gloria Reuben (Performer)

Gloria Reuben spent four years portraying Jeanie Boulet on television's ER. On the big screen, she has been seen in Nick of Time (with Johnny Depp), Shaft (with Samuel L. Jackson and Vanessa Williams), and The Sentinel (with Michael Douglas and Eva Longoria). She has been seen off Broadway in Eve Ensler's The Vagina Monologues and the Public Theater's production of Stuff Happens. Reuben also recorded her debut solo record "Just For You."

 
Miriam Shor
Miriam Shor (Performer)

Miriam Shor is best known for her portrayal of Yitzhak both Off-Broadway and in the movie of Hedwig and the Angry Inch. She has also appeared on television in such series as Becker, My Name is Earl, and The West Wing. Shor's additional movie credits include Pizza (with Ethan Embry), Bedazzled (with Brendan Fraser and Orlando Jones) and Shortbus, written and directed by Hedwig co-star John Cameron Mitchell.

 
Michael Winther
Michael Winther (Performer)

Michael Winther's Broadway credits include Mamma Mia!, The Crucible, and 1776. He performed the one man show, Songs From an Unmade Bed at New York Theatre Workshop featuring music and lyrics by various contemporary musical artists. In 2006, Songs From an Unmade Bed was recorded and released by Sh-K-Boom Records. Winther has also appeared in the films The Break-Up, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, and Independence Day.

 
Rebecca A. Frank (Event Producer)

Rebecca A. Frank is a producer, general manager and lawyer. She most recently was the Director of Business Affairs for The Dramatists Guild of America. Her producing and general managements credits include More Unauthorized Musicology of Ben Folds (NYMTF 2007), The Unauthorized Musicology of Ben Folds (NYMTF 2006), A Time to Be Born (FringeNYC 2006), The Digital Age (Channel 25 WYNE 2004), Golden Prospects: A Los Angeles Melodrama (FringeNYC 2004), The Golden Ass (FringeNYC 1998), BOOM: The Lost Generation (CSC Theatre 1998), Sequitur (Pearl Theatre 1998), The Memorandum (West Side Dance Project 1997), The House of Bernarda Alba (Columbia University 1997).

She received her JD from New York Law School, where she was Editor-in-Chief of the Media Law & Policy Journal and was awarded the Media Center Award for Excellence in Media Law. Prior to law school, she worked in theatre management for 101 Productions, Ltd. Rebecca received her MFA in Theatre Management from Columbia University and her BA (Honors) from Mount Holyoke College.

 
Jess McLeod (Director)

Jess McLeod is a director and dramaturg. As NYMF's Associate Director of Programming, she conceived this year's Spring Concert Series, including More Unauthorized Musicology of Ben Folds (a follow-up to NYMF's Unauthorized Musicology of Ben Folds) and Broadway Battle of the Bands, both at The Zipper Factory, and oversees NYMF's team of resident dramaturgs. New York directing credits include Speakeasy at Birdland, The Times by Joe Keenan & Brad Ross (Sonnet Rep/Blue Heron), The Last Five Years (Arthur Seelen) and Kitchen Sink by Rachel Axler (FringeNYC/Cherry Lane Studio). Regional credits include The Chicken Soup Show and The Gurl Show, created for and at Williamstown Theatre Festival. She spent two years in the Creative Department of Jujamcyn Theaters under Jack Viertel and Rocco Landesman and has also worked in various capacities for The Talking Band, The National Alliance for Musical Theatre, director Jerry Zaks and playwright Marsha Norman. McLeod is a graduate of Williams College, where she founded The Upstart Theatre and regularly returns as a teaching artist, as well as a member of NYU's First Look Company. She loves showtunes, and everybody knows it.

K.J. Hardy (Lighting Designer)

K.J. Hardy started his career as an assistant designer at the age of 15 while attending the Educational Center for the Arts, a Fame based high school for the performing arts in New Haven, CT. Mr. Hardy attended the prestigious Theatrical Design and Technology Department at S.U.N.Y. Purchase, where earned a BFA with honors. After a few years of assisting senior designers on and off Broadway, K.J. began working as a lighting designer and programmer in entertainment design. Mr. Hardy has designed for over 100 Theatrical and Operatic-based productions, and over 1000 live entertainment events. His portfolio encompasses a vast range of clients and performers, from the punk cabaret sounds of The Dresden Dolls to the annual holiday pageants of the Mary Mount School for Girls. K.J. is a proud member of the United Scenic Artist Local 829 and has been twice nominated for a BESSIE award in lighting design for his work with The Classical Theater of Harlem. K.J. is currently the Resident Lighting Designer for Joe's Pub... at the Public Theater.

 
Mary Kathryn Flynt (Stage Manager)
