Sy Adamowsky (Antonio Fiorelli)
Broadway, Off Broadway and National Tour: Caroline, or Change (Noah), Passin'It On in Miami, Florida with Len Cariou (Mac), Night of the Hunter - NYMF 2006 (John Harper), The Adventures of Mottel - The Kaufmann Center NYC (Mottel). Sy is a member of the Broadway Kids and has appeared on television on Conan O'Brien, Star Search and The View. National Anthem for The NY Mets (SHEA), The NY Knicks (MSG) and the NY Liberty (MSG). Harrison Chad: Originated the role of Noah Gellman in Caroline, or Change on Broadway and at The Joseph Papp Public Theater. He performed the entire run and can be heard on the original cast recording. Other Broadway credits: “Les Miserables†(Gavroche), “Disney’s Beauty & The Beast†(Chip) and “Peter Pan†(Michael Darling). Kennedy Center: Mame with Christine Baranski (Young Patrick). Film credits: the “Hounddogâ€, “Carry Me Home†(Brian), “Hebrew Hammer†(Shlomo), “Messengers†(Michael), Tarzan II (Voice of Tarzan) and Charlotte’s Web II (Voice of Cardigan). Everyday, Harrison can be heard on television as the voice of “Boots, the Monkey†on “Dora The Explorerâ€. Brad Coolidge (Father Michael Caviggia)
Brad was last seen in Shakespeare in the Park-ing Lot: Romeo and Juliet (Romeo), Much Ado About Nothing (Claudio), and The Tempest (Ferdinand). Brad has done many stage readings, concerts, and shows off, off-off broadway, and reginal theatre across the country. Emily Kate Fox (Lena Crackowski)
Emily Kate Fox has been working in musical theater since age nine, and is thrilled to be making her NYMF debut. She has been featured in several Westchester Broadway Theatre productions including Footloose and Jesus Christ Superstar. Emily began her musical theater career at TADA! where she performed in Everything About School Almost, Little Moon Theater, and History Mystery. A veteran of numerous community theater companies in New York and New Jersey, Emily has appeared in Grease (Marty), A Chorus Line, Peter Pan (Tiger Lily), Anne of Green Gables (Diana), Stuart Little (Stuart), School House Rock Live Junior (Dori), and The Life and Rhymes of Fiona Gander. In addition, Emily has participated in staged readings and benefit performances. She studies voice with Alastair William King, acting at the American Academy of the Dramatic Arts, and dance at Broadway Dance Center. In between her theater engagements, Emily attends Scarsdale High School and the Hoff Barthelson Music School where she studies the cello. Daria Hardeman (Carla Johnson)
Daria Hardeman (Carla) is so pleased to be a part of the birthing of this fantastic production and this very talented cast. Favorite credits include: Broadway, The Full Monty. Adrianne Hick (Celeste DiRinalso)
Adrianne Hick is so happy to be a part of this wonderful new musical! Adrianne's favorite NYC credits include Gold Rush! for Theatreworks/USA (Jenny), My Favorite Year (dir. Evan Pappas) and The Laramie Project. She has recently appeared as Abby/Victoria in a staged reading of Charles Strouses' new musical Dancing With Time and has done several films and commercials. Ironically, she actually did get married at a vineyard on the North Fork of Long Island to a man with a very Italian last name and considers herself Italian by default! Salut!
M. Kathryn Quinlan (Lidia Fiorelli)
Kathryn is thrilled to be participating in NYMF for the first time. Credits include BROADWAY: The Wizard of Oz (u/s Dorothy) OFF BROADWAY: Roller Skates and Mary Jane (Colleen), REGIONAL: Favorites include: Dinner With Friends (Beth), Rags (Carbonell award for the role of Bella), Baby! (Lizzie), The Sound of Music (Maria), Threepenny Opera (Jenny), World Goes Round (Woman #1), She Loves Me (Amalia), West Side Story (Rosalia). Kathryn has also done numerous concerts internationally, throughout the US and in NY, singing the music of the great American musical composers. In addition, Kathryn is the owner of a spice rub company called Kitty’s Kicker Rubs. Look for them online.
Kevin Reed (Benno Fiorelli)
Kevin Reed received his masters in acting at Columbia University in New York City. He has been seen on Broadway and around the country singing with such artists as Michael Bolton and Linda Eder, and appeared in Radio City’s Sinatra: His Voice, His World His Way. He created and performed his one-man cabaret show, Looking for Love and Cookies. Kevin has appeared with Darrell Hammond at Caroline’s as a stand-up comedic. Off Broadway he was seen as Buckingham in Andrei Serban’s Richard 3. Other credits include Ace at The Old Globe, Evita at the Pioneer, Kristin Linklater’s The Winter’s Tale, Brownstone at the Berkshire Theater Festival, and many others. Matthew Robert (Barton Sanders)
Matthew Robert is stoked to participate in his first NYMF! As a junior attending Bay Shore High School Matthew is hyped to take part in such a fantastic musical. After recently starring as a Quarterback in Fred Carpenter's new film, "The Bruins", The Family Fiorelli is an unbelievable opportunity! Matthew is known across Long Island for both his humor and his heart. After performing in over 35 theatrical productions, Matthew has gained a true passion and insight for the stage. Favorite credits include Fiddler on the Roof (Tevye), Damn Yankees! (Mr. Applegate), You're A Good Man Charlie Brown! (Snoopy), Singin' in the Rain (R.F. Simson), and many other title roles throughout Long Island. He was featured nationally in the Bazooka Bubble Gum commercial that aired earlier this year as well. When not in a production, Matthew can be seen in and out of the city as a Stand-Up comic. When off-stage, Matthew finds himself writing monologues, scenes, and even full-length plays. He plans to one day attend Emerson to study theater and further his skills. Matthew would like to thank God, Cinematic, Mom, Dad, and Chris for their unwavering support and especially his older sister Sarah for always making him smile!
Fred Anthony Marco (Book and Lyrics)
Fred has written the book and lyrics for "The Reunion", has contributed lyrics for "Little West 5th Avenue", and has written book and lyrics for a musical adaptation of "The Great Gatsby". He is an alumnus of the Lehman Engel BMI Musical Theatre Writing Workshop and a member of the Dramatists Guild of America.
Alastair William King (Music)
Alastair was the composer and co-lyrist for "The Ultimate Man" produced at the Bridewell Theatre in London's West End, composer for "Christy and the Playboys" produced in Stowe, Vermont, and is co-creator and composer for a new musical, "Outlaws", a contemporary telling of the tale of Billy the Kid. Alastair also wrote the music and book for the the revue "Relationships" produced in St. Croix, and showcased at the TADA theater in New York City. His pop songs have been published by Carlin and Southern Music and recorded and released by Warner Music on Viva Records.
Robert Bartley (Director)
Robert recently staged HAIR as part of Peculiar Work's Obie-winning sequel OFF SIDES-EAST VILLAGE FRAGMENTS. Robert conceived and directed NY's BROADWAY BACKWARDS I&II, featuring Betty Buckley, Richard Kind, Gary Beach, Constantine Maroulis, Len Cariou, Charles Busch, Andrea McArdle, Tony Roberts and Cheyenne Jackson. Robert's writing projects include a new musical-DANCE WITH ME! a NAMT finalist which he recently staged at Theatre Arlington, and the York Theatre, and the screenplay, ELEPHANT WALK. With his collaborator Danny Whitman, his songs have been recorded by Tonya Pinkins, Karen Mason, and Rachel York. As an actor, on Broadway, in MISS SAIGON (Chris) HOLLYWOOD HITS BROADWAY with Robert DeNiro, Meryl Streep, Susan Sarandon, Whoopi Goldberg, Bette Midler, Beyonce, and Chita Rivera; plus CATS (Rum Tug Tugger); Cy Coleman's last musical-EXACTLY LIKE YOU (Bates) IONESCOPADE opposite Ruby Dee and Barbara Feldon; and ALADDIN at Carnegie Hall.
Mark Janas (Musical Director)
While at at Indiana University, Mark was chosen by Leonard Bernstein to conduct at Bernstein festivals in Israel and Austria. He was twice Bernstein’s assistant, for concerts with the New York Philharmonic and Boston Symphony orchestras. After receiving a bachelor of music degree from Indiana University and a brief stint as associate conductor of Texas Opera Theatre, he acquired a master’s degree in orchestral conducting at Rice University, while simultaneously founding and conducting a professional group, Orchestra Texas. In 1982, he was a conducting fellow at the Los Angeles Philharmonic Institute, studying with Bernstein, Tilson Thomas, Hogwood, and Blomstedt. 1984, he jumped the fence to musical theater, composing a score for an historical drama The Lone Star, later recorded in London with members of the LSO, and later conducted the Houston Symphony in a performance of a Suite from the work. Janas music directed the world’s largest production of Hello, Dolly!, creating all-new arrangements for its star, Marilyn Maye. He performed all over the United States as associate conductor for two national tours of Les Misérables, as well as music directing for the Yale Repertory Theatre, Hippodrome State Theatre, Arkansas Repertory Theatre, and New Dramatists, to name a few. He music directed the Chautauqua Opera Cabarets in 1998 and more recently has performed and released a CD with 2001 Best Debut BackStage Bistro and MAC award winner Julie Reyburn. Performances with Maree Johnson took him to Australia, and last summer two New York readings of his original musical, PoeSCrypt, were very well received; a recording of the work is currently in process. Mr. Janas won the 2002 BackStage Bistro Award for Outstanding Achievement in Musical Direction, and, having taught before at Yale, Barnard, Concordia, and NYU, as well as his Acting The Song class with colleague Andy Gale.
Jessica Redish (Choreographer)
Jessica Redish (Choreographer) is excited to be a part of THE FAMILY FIORELLI. She recently directed and choreographed MOVING FORWARD, LOOKING BACK a new musical revue by Michael Mahler at the Laurie Beechman Theatre, choreographed OEDIPUS FOR KIDS! at NYMF 2006 and directed and choreographed Raw Impressions #21 at the Flea Theatre. Clifford Lee Johnson III (Dramaturg)
Clifford Lee Johnson III is the Director of Musical Development at Manhattan Theatre Club, a position he has held since January 1993. His play, RECONSTRUCTION, was produced in the New York International Fringe Festival in 2004 and by the Open Book in 2005, and his article, “The Persona Musical,†recently appeared in THE DRAMATIST. In addition, he served as a creative consultant during the creation of the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia. Born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, he graduated from Ole Miss and currently lives with two writers, his wife Jane Alice Kelley and their daughter Sofia. Maruti Evans (Set and Light Designer)
Maruti has worked Off-Broadway and regionally in Opera, Theatre, and Dance over the last 7 years. His career includes Production and Set Design @ Lincoln Center, Dodger Stages, The New Duke Theatre, 59 East 59 Theatres, Theatre Row Theatres, The C Venues (Scott.), Assembly Room Venues (Scott.), The Guided Balloon (Scott.), Ensemble Studio Theatre, Manhattan Ensemble Theatre, Symphony Space, Stony Brook Opera, Viscaya Opera, and Manhattan Theatre Source. He has been nominated for Lighting Design by the Drama Desk Awards for “Blindness†@ 59e59 Theatres 2007, Nominee Best Lighting and Set Design AUDELCO nominee “Relativity†@ EST 2006, Nominee Best Light and Set Design Bessie Awards “Relativity†2006, as well as Set Design for the “Traveling Lady†nominee Best Revival of a Play Obie Awards 2005.
Lane Fragomeli (Costume Designer)
Lane Fragomeli (Costume Designer) Tennessee Repertory Theatre-Resident Costume Designer. Winner of 5 "Tennie" awards for outstanding costume design for An Ideal Husband, The Little Foxes, Romeo and Juliet, Camelot, and Evita. While in Nashville, Lane also designed costumes for Always Patsy Cline at the historic Ryman Auditorium. In California, he has designed Bus Stop or A Noise Within Theatre company as well as numerous productions for the Fountain Theatre. He has designed several independent films while in LA including The Unspeakable which was such a terrible straight-to-video production that it should have been called The Unwatchable. Lane has been a wardrobe stylist for several commercials in Los Angeles and has worked as a personal assistant/shopper for an insanely wealthy socialite who had an overblown ego and no sense of gratitude. After realizing that he had been sold into white slavery, he escaped with his life and began designing wardrobe for drag queens in LA such as Kay Sedilla (Ms Mexico) and Christy Anity ( Miss Deep South) Currently Lane works as Creative Director for Costumes for Paper Magic Group and if you've ever purchased a pre-made Spiderman or other halloween costume from Walmart, CVS, Target, K-mart or Party City you've probably bought one of Lane's designs. Lane has also taught fashion illustration at O'more college of Design and holds and MFA in costume design from the University of California, Irvine. Lane is currently working on his memoir "How To Match a Striped Tie with a Checkered Past."
Marcie Friedman (Stage Manager)
The Family Fiorelli marks Marcie’s New York debut. Until recently, Marcie served as Production Stage Manager for the Human Race Theatre Company in Dayton, Ohio where favorite productions from this past season include: I Am My Own Wife, Harold & Maude: An Intimate Musical and Take Me Out. A Philadelphia native, other memorable experiences include two seasons with the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival, and: Psychopathia Sexualis (Montgomery Theater), Yemaya’s Belly, Jack and the Beanstalk: An American Panto, The Member of the Wedding, The O’Conner Girls, Sleeping Beauty, The Miser, (People’s Light & Theatre Company), Inventing Van Gogh (Act II Playhouse), and Permanent Collection (InterAct Theatre Company). Marcie is proud to be a member of the Actor’s Equity Association. Love and gratitude to M, D and C, always.
Robert Lunde (Assistant Stage Manager)
Robert was stage manager for the York Theatre reading of the new musical, "Dance With Me" and ASM for "Broadway Backwards 2" at 37 Arts. Additionally he has written and directed a children's theatre adaptation of "Country Mouse, City Mouse," directed main stage and non-traditional interactive theatre productions, and is looking forward to directing "Blithe Spirit" in the Spring. As an actor, he most recently portrayed Simon in "The Real Inspector Hound." Robert has acting credits in film, commercials and theatre and continues to pursue that side of his career while balancing the never ending hyphenated life.
David Marantz (Producer/General Manager)
THE FAMILY FIORELLI is David’s second production wearing the producer/General Manager hat. Last year David helped to produce the new play, PRIME TIME, by Alex De Witt, at the Lion Theatre in the Theatre Row Complex. David is also Assistant Artistic Director of The Drilling Company, who present evenings of new short plays written around a theme. Past shows have included JUSTICE, SECURITY parts I and II, REVENGE parts I and II and HONOR parts I and II. David, along with The Drilling Company, also helps to produce Shakespeare in the Parking Lot in July and August on the Lower East Side. This summer’s season was ROMEO AND JULIET and MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING. David has been primarily an actor, however, and has acted in and directed many new short plays for The Drilling Company. This summer he played Mercutio in ROMEO AND JULIET for Shakespeare in the Parking Lot and Kippy in TAKE ME OUT for The Human Race Theatre in Dayton, OH. Other credits include work with The Mint Theatre, TheatreWorks USA, Summer Theatre at Mt. Holyoke and a long list of NYC indie theatres. Film and TV: all the NY Daytime Dramas, Law and Order, and the Independent Feature, “Nail Polishâ€, now screening and winning awards in Festivals nationwide, including the recent Long Island and Garden State Film Festivals.
