Timothy Frey
Timothy Frey (Book/Music/Lyrics)

Tim started his music career by founding the punk/new-wave band The Midniters in 1979. The band toured the east coast sharing the stage with such acts as The Misfits, 999, and The U.K. Subs. Concurrently he scored three grade B horror films and a zombie musical for an independent company specializing in releases for the European market.

Tim scored two Off-Off Broadway musicals that had short but successful runs. At that time he also played and wrote for the punk/jazz group Panty Raid performing at the venues CBGB, The Dive, 8 B.C. and others.

For 5 years he was resident composer/designer for Touchstone Theater where he worked on over 20 original productions. He currently is a designer and composer at Lafayette College.

Tim has composed music and created sound designs for scores of productions for professional and college theater, including PA Youth Theater, Lehigh University and Wagner College.

This is his third collaboration with Director/Choreographer Rusty Curcio. Together they created the critically acclaimed dance production Busted Nuts.

 
Rusty Curcio
Rusty Curcio (Director/Choreographer)

Rusty Curcio began his 20 year career in entertainment as a dancer with The Ramsey Dance Ensemble then professionally with Acanthus Ballet, Humphrey Dance Company and for 9 years toured internationally with Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo performing some of the most coveted roles in the classical repertoire. He also had the opportunity to perform with the Peridance Ensemble and tour Japan for two seasons with Les Ballets Grandiva de Russia. Rusty has worked for many regional and summer stock theatre companies performing in such shows as Jesus Christ Superstar, Guys and Dolls, Fiddler on the Roof, Sugar Babies and Cats. He was co-founder and Artistic Director Bergen Festival, Bergen County, NJ as well as Artistic Director for the Lycian Center, Sugar Loaf, NY – Kings Theatre Company and created the Royal Pavilion Family Theatre Company focusing on children’s theatre and family entertainment. He was a member of the Artistic Production staff for Surflight Theatre, Beach Haven, NJ for three consecutive seasons where he served as Dance Director, Company Manger and choreographed numerous productions. Rusty has created many original Dance Concert compositions along with directing and choreographing many musical theatre productions for regional, summer stock theatre and college theatre. Rusty is currently the Head of Dance for Wagner College on Staten Island, NY where he has been teaching theatre and dance since 1997. Rusty has completed his pre-requisite certification in Laban Movement Analysis and Bartenieff Fundamentals and is training to become a Certified Movement Analyst in the Laban/Bartenieff Theories.

 
Deniz Cordell
Deniz Cordell (Musical Director)

Deniz Cordell, a graduate of Brandeis University, comes from a diverse background in theatre and music – working extensively as a performer, vocalist, pianist, accordionist, and stage and musical director. While at Brandeis, he served as both stage and musical director for the University premieres of The Umbrellas of Cherbourg, and Leonard Bernstein’s Peter Pan, for which Mr. Bernstein’s daughter Nina crafted a special narration (now available from Boosey & Hawkes).

He also writes and performs as a voice actor with the award-winning Colonial Radio Theatre on the Air. Among his many collaborations with Colonial Radio are scripts for their new Perry Mason series, as well as the adaptation of Buck Alice and the Actor-Robot, based on the novel by Star Trek’s Walter Koenig. He co-wrote the script with Mr. Koenig, and also performs the role of Buck Alice.

He has written the music and additional lyrics for Wash Your Linen (which recently had a workshop presentation in New York), and is currently at work on book, music, and lyrics for two new musicals.

Deniz is currently a musical director for the New England Youth Theatre, in Brattleboro, Vermont. He has worked under theatrical luminaries including Sheldon Harnick and Charles Strouse, and recently presented Happy Faces and Hard-Knock Lives, a special revue celebrating Mr. Strouse’s 80th Birthday, in Brattleboro.

Most recently, Deniz began collaborating with 5th Floor Productions – a new theatre company based in Manhattan – as their musical advisor.

In addition to his theatre work, Deniz spends much of his time championing the work of American composer Leonard Rosenman, and provided liner notes to the release of Mr. Rosenman’s Academy-Award nominated score Cross Creek for Intrada Records. He does his best to keep busy in the theatre and music worlds.

 
Vicki Neal (Lighting Designer)

Vicki Neal is an Easton, PA based scene and lighting designer whose work has been seen in professional theatres and colleges from Philadelphia to New York City. Theresa Flanagan  (Stage Manager)

Credits include work with Rosie's Broadway Kids, Clubbed Thumb, Boomerang Theatre Co, Bay Street Theatre, theAtrainplays, Galveston Island Musicals and the national tour of "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes". She is currently a resident stage manager with Transport Group. BA, Wagner College. Proud AEA stage manager.

A native of Houston, TX Brent received a BA in Theatre from the University of Houston. In NYC he was a company member of the Amy Marshall Dance Company. Renée Marino
Renée Marino (Raven)

Renée is currently the universal vacation swing for “Jersey Boys”, and was on the first national tour of Disney’s “High School Musical” -(Sharpay Evans understudy/ensemble). She performed in the shows world premier at Theater of the Stars in Atlanta and was on the 25th Anniversary North American tour of “Cats” as a swing covering 6 roles. In addition Renée was the lead vocalist in the casino revue, “Heatwave” in Biloxi MS in 2004. John Jamiel
John Jamiel (Sheriff )

John Jamiel has been a professional actor for the past 30 years. New York acting credits include Voynitsky in The Wood Demon at the American Theatre of Actors, Dostoyevsky in Circus at Theatre for the New City and Sganarelle at The Van Dam Theatre. Regionally he has been a Guest Artist at Buffalo Studio Arena and Berea College. Favorite roles include Whiteside in The Man Who Came to Dinner, The Duke in Measure for Measure, Ralph Clark in Our Country’s Good and Jake in A Lie of the Mind. He has trained with Uta Hagen, Austin Pendelton, F. Murray Abraham and Christine Lavren and received his MFA from Brooklyn College. Currently he heads up the Acting Program at Wagner College on Staten Island. Proud member of Actors’ Equity Association.

 
Brandon Riley
Brandon Riley (Jester)

Michael Tennenbaum
Michael Tennenbaum  (King Richard)

Michael Tennenbaum is an actor and director, currently on the faculty of the Theatre Department at Wagner College. As artistic director of the NeverLand Theatre Company, he ran the community theater in residence at The College of Staten Island and has directed over 100 shows in theaters, high school auditoriums and church basements all over the tri-state area. Thanks to Rusty and Tim for letting him in on the ground floor of this exciting and fun new work.

Brett Radek

Brett Radek is originally from Chicago and is very excited to be making his NYMF debut! He is a junior theatre performance major with a dance minor at Wagner College and recently studied in Italy with the acclaimed Commedia del'Arte Troupe Teatro Punto. Jackie Mercandetti
Jackie Mercandetti (Squirrel)

Jackie is thrilled to be a part of “Robin Hood” in NYMF 2008! Jackie recently graduated from Wagner College with a BA in Musical Theatre. She spent this past summer at the Surflight Theatre where she performed in Oklahoma (Ado Annie), Chicago (June), A Funny Thing… Forum (directed by Gabriel Barre), The Producers, Will Rogers Follies, and All Shook Up. Prior to this, she was in Atlantic City tapping the days away in 42nd Street at the Tropicana Casino and Hotel. Jackie was a 2002 Papermill Playhouse Rising Star for her portrayal of Babe in The Pajama Game. She was also an apprentice at the Broadway Theatre Project where she had the opportunity to work with professionals including Ben Vereen and Frank Wildhorn. Other favorite roles include Val in A Chorus Line and Catherine in Pippin. Matt Sydney
Matt Sydney (Little John)

Matt is more than thrilled to be part of this year New York Musical Theatre Festival with such an amazing cast. Matt is currently a freshman theatre performance major at Wagner College. Recent roles include Jekyll and Hyde in Jekyll and Hyde, Col. Mustard in Clue the play, Roger in Grease, Rapunzal's Prince/ Wolf in Into The Woods, and Prince Dauntless in Once Upon A Mattress. Molly Densmore
Molly Densmore (Chorus)

Molly, a Theater Performance major at Wagner College, makes her New York City debut in Robin Hood. A native of Woodstock, N.Y., Molly has appeared in many upstate regional productions, most recently including Grease (Rizzo), HAIR (Margaret Mead), The Rocky Horror Show (Phantom Dancer) and The Tempest (Miranda.) She also played the role of Sister in Wagner's student-directed stage rendition of The Perks of Being a Wallflower. Molly would like to thank her teachers for their guidance and her family and friends for their loving support.

Mike is ecstatic to be making his NYMF debut! He is currently a freshman theatre performance major at Wagner College. Originally from New Jersey, Mike has performed in many community theatre shows, having appeared most recently as Action in West Side Story and Zeke in Disney's High School Musical (Count Basie Theatre) for his second year in a row.
