Broadway and Off-Broadway's best take on the songs of pop sensation Ben Folds, whose offbeat cast of characters, biting lyrics and virtuosic melodies have rocked and touched the music world for over a decade. Ashley Parker Angel is currently making his Broadway debut in Hairspray as Link Larkin. Angel starred on the ABC series Making the Band, which chronicled the formation of his multi-platinum recording group O-Town, most widely recognized for the smash hit "All or Nothing." He has also appeared in his own MTV series There and Back and last year released the solo album Soundtrack to Your Life, which featured the hit single, "Let You Go."
Michael Arden made his Broadway debut as Tom Sawyer in the 2003 Roundabout and Deaf West revival of Big River. More recently, he starred in the new Twyla Tharp musical The Times They Are A-Changin' based on the music of Bob Dylan. Arden is currently starring in the new musical Ace, at San Diego's Old Globe Theatre. His regional theatre credits include Pippin, God of Vengeance, Falsettoland, Tom Jones' Harold and Maude, West Side Story, Songs for a New World, The Common Pursuit, and A Winter's Tale. Television appearances include "Grey's Anatomy" and "Numb3rs", and he was seen alongside Donald Trump in a Domino's Pizza commercial.
Stephen Bogardus made his first New York City appearance in a stage adaptation of the film The Umbrellas of Cherbourg at Joseph Papp's Public Theater in 1979. Additional off-Broadway credits include March of the Falsettos (1981), In Trousers (1985), Falsettoland (1990), and Love! Valour! Compassion! (1994), which transferred to Broadway the following year. Bogardus earned both Obie and Tony Award nominations for his performance and reprised his role in the 1997 film. Bogardus' extensive television credits include small roles on three daytime soaps, Another World, All My Children, and The Guiding Light, and numerous guest appearances on primetime series, including Cagney and Lacey, Law & Order, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Ed, Monk, and Conviction.
Alan Campbell is best known for his Tony nominated role of Joe Gillis in Sunset Boulevard. He has also been seen on Broadway in Contact, which was filmed for Great Performances on Public Television. Regionally, he has performed in Beauty and the Beast opposite wife Lauren Kennedy, and is a founding member of Heart of Los Angeles (HOLA) Youth Theater which serves inner-city children. Campbell has been seen on television in Law & Order: SVU, Homicide: Life on the Street, The Facts of Life, and Matlock.
Will Chase was last seen this past fall originating the role of Rob in the musical High Fidelity. His other Broadway credits include Rent (Roger), Lennon, Aida (Radames), and Miss Saigon (Chris). He has appeared regionally as the Balladeer in Assassins and Older Patrick in Mame. Chases's TV credits include Third Watch and Law & Order, and was seen in the movie Shaft.
Stephanie D'Abruzzo is best known for originating the roles of Kate Monster and Lucy T. Slut in the Tony Award winning Avenue Q. She has also been seen Off-Broadway in I Love You Because and If You Give A Mouse a Cookie. Prior to her Broadway debut, D'Abruzzo worked as a pupetter and performer on televsion in The Book of Pooh, The Wubbulous World of Doctor Seuss, and Sesame Street, as well as in the Sesame Street movie The Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland.
Manoel Felciano was nominated for a Tony Award for his role as Tobias in Sweeney Todd. He has appeared on Broadway in Cabaret, Jesus Christ Superstar, and Brooklyn. His Off-Broadway and regional credits include Shockheaded Peter, Mauch Ado... (NYSF/Public Theater), and I Just Stopped By...(Old Globe). Felciano received a BA from Yale and MFA from the NYU Graduate Acting Program, where he was seen as Valmont in Les Liaisons Dangereuses, Gaev in Cherry Orchard, Giovanni in We Won't Pay! and Pericles in Pericles.
Annie Golden has appeared on Broadway in On the Town, The Full Monty, and Leader of the Pack. She played the role of Lynette "Squeaky" Fromme in the 1991 off-Broadway run of Assassins, and Jeannie in the movie version of Hair. Golden's other movie credits include Prelude to a Kiss, Twelve Monkeys, and It Runs in the Family, and has appeared on the small screen on Cheers and Miami Vice. She was the lead singer for "The Shirts," a new wave band from the late 70s/early 80s that headlined CBGBs.
Lisa Howard is best known for originating the role Rona Lisa Peretti in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee at the Barrington Stage Company and on Broadway. Off-Broadway, she has also played Catherine Martin in Silence! The Musical, and has appeared in numerous concerts and cabarets. Howard's regional credits include Bye Bye Birdie, Crazy For You, and Falsettos. She holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from the University of Cincinnati - College Conservatory of Music.
Liz McCartney has appeared in two of the three longest runing shows on Broadway . She originated the role of Big Sue in Taboo, and has performed on Broadway alongside Michael Crawford, Carolee Carmello, and been seen in Les Miserables, Phanotom of the Opera (Carlotta) and Throughly Modern Millie (Miss Flannery). Regional credits include The Rocky Horror Show and Into the Woods (The Witch). McCarntey has appeared in "Route 66" and "Law and Order SVU". A graduate of the Boston Conservatory, she currently lives in New York with her husband, Tom Moynahan, and their daughter Megan.
Kevyn Morrow was nominated for an Olivier Award for his portrayal of Coalhouse Walker, Jr. in the acclaimed London production of Ragtime. His Broadway credits include The Scarlet Pimpernel, Smokey Joe's Cafe, Dreamgirls and the original production of A Chorus Line. He was also in a one night only concert production of Anything Goes with Patti LuPone. His movie credits include Barbershop, Ali, and Staying Alive, and on the small screen, Morrow has appeared in Hope & Faith, Ed, and Coach.
Greg Naughton was recently seen in the 2006 New York Musical Theatre Festival production of Alive in the World. He also founded Off-Bway's "Blue Light Theater Co." in NYC and served as Artistic Director for 6 seasons and 16 productions, including the Obie-Winning productions Oedipus, w/ Frances McDormand and Billy Crudup, and Waiting for Lefty, directed by Joanne Woodward w/ Marisa Tomei. As an actor, credits include Blue Light's acclaimed production of Golden Boy (title role), The Seagull (Austin Pendleton, dir); Two Gentlemen of Verona, Jack's Holiday (Playwright's Horizons) and Scenes From an Execution (Mark Taper Forum & Blue Light). More recently, Naughton has begun to make a name for himself as a singer-songwriter, performing both solo and with his backing band "The Stark Naked Sole."
J. Robert Spencer currently plays Nick Massi, one of the Four Seasons in Jersey Boys. His other Broadway and National Tour credits include Side Show, Cats, Finian's Rainbow, and Romeo and Juliet. He has directed, written and performed in stand up and sketch comedy at the Improv Olympic and Second City Stage. Along with writing music, Spencer just completed Directing, Producing, Writing and Starring in his first full length feature, "Farm Girl in New York".
Bob Stillman is currently portraying George Gould Strong in Grey Gardens on Broadway. He has contributed songs to Urban Cowboy and Dirty Blonde and has appeared on stage in Kiss of the Spiderwoman and Grand Hotel. His television appearances include "Law & Order" and "Star Trek: Voyager".As a composer and lyricist, Stillman released his debut album, Come Down Angel, in 2004.
Lillias White received Broadway's "Quadrupele Crown"--the Tony Award, Drama Desk Award, Peoples Choice Award and The Outer Critics Award--for her role as Sonja in The Life. Her other Broadway credits include How to Suceed in Business..., Once on This Island, Barnum and Dreamgirls. White was also in the national and international tours of Ain't Misbehavin', Tintypes, The Wiz, and Dreamgirls. On the big screen, she has been seen in Pieces of April, The Grinch That Stole Christmas, and heard in Dosney's Hercules. White has performed at the Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center, and Carnegie Hall including the role of Bloody Mary in the concert version of South Pacific.
Michael Winther's Broadway credits include Mamma Mia!, The Crucible, and 1776. He performed the one man show, "Songs From an Unmade Bed" at New York Theatre Workshop featuring music and lyrics by various contemporary musical artists. In 2006, "Songs From an Unmade Bed" was recorded and released by Sh-K-Boom Records. Winther has also appeared in the films The Break-Up, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, and Independence Day.
Chip Zien is perhaps best known for playing the role of the Baker in the original Broadway production of Into the Woods. He was also seen on Broadawy in Falsettos (Mendel), Grand Hotel (Otto Kringelein), Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (Goran),The Boys from Syracuse (Dromio), and The Suicide (Victor Victorovich). Zien also worked with William Finn as Marvin in In Trousers, and Mr. Bungee in A New Brain. He was recently seen in the movie United 93, and has appeared on television in CSI:Crime Scene Investigation, Law & Order, Now & Again, Judging Amy, and thirtysomething.
