The New York Musical Theatre Festival has been proud to present works from across America and around the globe since 2004.

 

 

THE NEXT LINK PROJECT From JANUARY 11 THROUGH MARCH 1, we will be accepting open submissions for The Next Link Project, through which 12 subsidized production slots in our 2010 Festival are awarded.  ANY WRITER – produced or unproduced, with or without industry representation – can submit his or her script for consideration.  All scripts are reviewed through a double-blind evaluation process, and your work is guaranteed to be read by between two and five members of our reading team and jury of top industry professionals.    If selected for The Next Link Project, you'll receive the following benefits: * Automatic acceptance in NYMF * Your production deposit WAIVED (a savings of as much as 20% of your overall budget) * Access to the Next Link dramaturg team and other writer support resources, including industry networking and “matchmaking” events. * Substantially discounted technical support   This open submission opportunity is ONLY available between January 11 and March 1, 2010. DANCE SERIES

The NYMF Dance Series explores the fusion of dance and musicals in a showcase for theatre’s hottest new choreographic talent. Every year, 3-4 original dance theatre works are presented as part of the Festival, and have encompassed a wide range of styles including jazz, modern, tap and hip hop.

 

The dance series is curated by the NYMF staff, which welcomes submission inquiries between February and mid-April. Any dance theatre piece that has not previously received a major professional New York City production is eligible for consideration.

 

The open submission period for NYMF's 2010 Dance Series ended on April 16.
Submissions are now closed. If you would like to apply for 2011, please check back in February.

 

 

OTHER FESTIVAL PROGRAMMING

In addition to our full productions, NYMF presents a number of readings, concerts, cabarets, and special events in each year’s festival to increase and diversify our roster of first-rate musical theatre projects. These shows may be submitted privately to NYMF by an industry advocate -- an agent, producer, director or theatre company -- or have been scouted by our programming staff members, who attend developmental workshops and readings throughout the year.
