Marketing Associate
NYMF seeks a full-time Marketing Associate for its 2012 Festival, which is scheduled from July 9-29, 2012. This is a seasonal position running from January through mid-August.
The Marketing Associate will assist the Executive Director in planning and executing the 2012 Festival marketing plan, and will manage the Festival’s in-house communications activities (including social media, graphic design, sponsorship and media partnerships). We are looking for a sales-oriented team player who is comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced environment. Successful candidates will be organized self-starters who possess strong written and verbal communications abilities, excellent attention to detail, and graphic design and web design skills.
This position is supervised by the Director of Development, supervises the MarketingIntern, and works very closely with the Director of Operations, Director of Programming, Executive Director, General Manager, and outside vendors, marketing partners and consultants.
Projects include:
Executing the 2012 Festival Marketing Plan:
- Scheduling and creating content for the NYMF website, e-newsletter, and social media platforms, as well as promotional opportunities provided by external media/marketing partners.
- Managing the creation, execution, and scheduling of all print and online advertisements, multimedia content, promotional materials for the 2012 Festival
- Managing the creation and distribution of the annual Festival Program Guide
- Adapting existing template designs for use in a variety of promotional contexts
- Soliciting marketing partnerships and advertisers for the 2012 Festival
- Supporting the marketing plans of individual participant shows
- Overseeing marketing events, in collaboration with our external press team
- Maintaining accurate records of all activities
Additional Projects
- Supporting the Director of Development and the Executive Director in creating sponsor solicitation materials and reports
- Assisting with sales and marketing for the 2012 Gala and other special events.

Graphic Designer
NYMF seeks a Graphic Designer for its 2012 Festival, which is scheduled from July 9-29, 2012.
The Graphic Designer will be responsible for creating new graphic elements to supplement established design components and for implementing NYMF's 2012 design identity in various additional design pieces. Designer reports to the Executive Director and works closely with the Marketing Associate and Operations Manager. This is an independent contractor, not a full-time position (apart from regular marketing meetings, designer will work independently to meet art deadlines).
Projects Include:
- Update the website graphics (including overall “re-skinning” of the site, and the creation of templates for front-page content “boxes”)
- 2012 Patron, Member, Sponsor & Season brochures
- Design and create graphics for editorial layouts and templates for the 64-page festival Program guide
- Templates for web banners, print ads, venue signage, and outdoor billboards/banners
- Membership/Patron/Participant credentials
- Festival tickets
- Thank you cards
- Materials for Awards Gala (invitation, save-the-date, journal)
Ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Illustrator and InDesign) and have experience with both layout and illustration. Designer should be familiar with both print and web-based design standards and be able to be multi-task and manage multiple project deadlines.
This is an excellent opportunity for emerging designers to build or strengthen their portfolio with high-profile pieces.
